A great social media profile looks good, tells who you are, and gives people a reason to follow and engage with you.

**1. Public (not private) profile**

If you’re on your way to becoming a true influencer, then that’s what you want: You want anyone to be able to view your posts and follow you.

To ensure your profile is public:

**Instagram**

Open “Settings”, tap on “Privacy”, and make sure “Private account” is turned off.

**TikTok**

Open “Settings and privacy”, tap on “Privacy”, and make sure “Private account” is turned off.

**2.** **Recognisable & searchable @username**

Preferably, you should use your name or a nickname. After all, you want people searching for you to easily find your profile. For example: [dariagroza](https://www.instagram.com/dariagroza/) or [dnp\_agriculture.](https://www.tiktok.com/@dnp_agriculture)

**3. Profile picture**

This is the first thing people see when they visit your profile. It should be an easily recognisable photo of yourself, preferably showing your beautiful smile.

**4.** **Attractive bio**

Tell your audience who you are and what you do.

**5.** **The latest trends**

Both Instagram home and TikTok For You pages show trending videos and posts. See what works, be authentic, and create your own masterpiece.

**6.** **High-quality photos & videos**

Social media is a way of entertainment. People expect to see high quality photos and videos.

**7. Regular stories**

Use stories every day or when you have the chance to show off something interesting.

**8. Regular posts**

Unlike stories, you won’t need to post daily. Keep at least up to 2 posts every week, to keep your audience engaged.

**9.** **Highlight your passions**

You love music, food, or books? Show it on your Instagram Highlights. They’re a means to show your followers an insight into your life and who you are.
